The new official tool to open and close hatches/manways on vacuum trucks and frac tanks in the oil industry. It has replaced the traditional steel pipe providing a safer way to open and close manways. When using the steel pipe to remove wingnuts on vacuum trucks or frac tanks, sometimes both hands are being used. This prevents an individual to keep 3 points of contact which should always be maintained when working on elevated heights. The steel pipe can then rapidly slip off and send the worker in the direction pressure is applied which can also cause a spark if the steel pipe strikes the metal tank or truck.  The force may throw the individual off balance, possibly leading to falling off the trailer/truck. Recently, the steel pipe has been reported to wound hands or knuckles of users causing a safety hazard in oil fields. This is undoubtedly an unsafe approach in completing this task.

The Hatch Wrench has a rubber handle for a more secure grip. The unique design securely locks onto wingnuts keeping safety a priority on the jobsite. The pry bar feature on the tip of the tool helps easily pry lid open after all wingnuts are removed.  It is crucial to use the right tool for the job.  QuStar's goal is to get The Hatch Wrench into the hands of all men in this line of work to minimize risk and be safe. A Man's Way To Be Safe.
